The first build of 'Lost In The Woods'
Currently, the project is very early in development. The player is currently just a white square, however the movement is fully functional (although the settings will likely be adjusted) and the levels have 'walls' which the player cannot pass through. The player also has the animator set up, however I don't currently have sprites for the player so there are no animation changes.
The biggest thing I have set up currently is setting up and organising my different tilemaps, which contain different environment assets from itch.io. I have also set up different layers on the grid for the tiles to be painted, and setting this all up early has made the early level design phase simple to apply.
I have begun designing levels for the game, however none are in a completed state that I am satisfied with yet, meaning I haven't begun to link any levels yet. As such, there isn't really a playable game besides a working player with movement that can explore a single unfinished level.
My next main goal is to begin finishing levels and start linking the scenes together using a randomiser, to begin formulating a playable game, as well as implement the lighting features which will give the illusion of a night time forest.
